Rug Care
We want all our customers to enjoy their purchase for a long time.
As with anything, your rug will benefit from a little T.L.C and
will help to preserve its life.
Our handy tips below offer a general guideline to keep your rug
looking good for as long as possible.
1. Most of our rugs can be safely vacuumed regularly
and this will help to pick up any surface dirt etc. If your rug
has fringes then a little more care is required when vacuuming as
these may get caught in the beaters or suction attachments.
2. Sweeping the rug with a stiff broom regularly
will help to remove loose dirt and will help to keep the rug looking
like new. It is important to brush with the direction of the pile
(run your fingers over the pile to find out the running direction).
3. Rotating your rug can help to minimise the
damaging effects of natural sunlight. All fabrics including rugs,
carpets, curtains etc will fade in time and this is not a manufacturing
defect. Rotating and repositioning your rug will help to reduce
the effects of this.
4. Spills and Cleaning Tips:
In the event of a spillage, blot (DO NOT RUB) the pile with soft
absorbent cloth or white paper towel. Try not to make the spillage
area larger.
Any excess spillage should be scrapped up with a blunt knife or
spatula.
Before using any cleaning products on your rug it is important
to do a spot test on a piece of fabric first. Some products contain
bleaching agents which will damage your rug. Once you have selected
a suitable product please follow the recommended guidelines correctly.
We always recommend having your rug professionally cleaned if the
above tips do not help maintain your purchase.
If you require any further help or advise in caring and maintaining
your rug please do not hesitate to contact us in the normal way.
Enjoy your rug!!
